  1. How to restrict my kids account from going into settings?

Thanks in advance for the answers....

I have a 5 year old granddaughter that stays with us on the weekends.

I have set up a restricted profile for her.

It works well in that it won't allow her to launch games not suitable for her age.

However, I cannot seem to find a way to keep that account from accessing the settings tab on the xbox.

    Is that possible?

Also, although she cannot play a game like GTA V, she can see it in the Ready to install section, and can select it, and can download it.

If she would try to then run it, it would be restricted.

Is there any way to keep her from even seeing those games?

Is there a way to keep her from installing them?

    Again thank you!!

    :)

Child account multiplayer games only with friends?

You're right. If you allow mulitplayer, he can basically play with everyone.

However, you can still restrict him from talking to friends only. Everyone else in the multiplayer match will be silent and unable to talk to your kid.

Also, you can restrict your kid to only see content that others create to friends. So your kid can't see custom emblems or car paintjobs for example. However, that also restricts him to play Minecraft with friends only for example.

So feel free to restrict the personal profile information of your child's account to your liking.

However, the ability to play with friends only is game dependent. For example Fortnite, a game that is popular among kids currently, is a multiplayer game, where 100 players are put on an island. So unless your friend has over 100 friends, it would be difficult
to get him into a game with only his friends.

If it helps, Xbox will try to keep a friend party together.

So your kid can invite their friends to a party (and due to your settings ONLY his friends), and they can then launch a multiplayer game.

Your kid then invites the friends to a private lobby, and only the kid with their friends can play, if the kid keeps the lobby setting to friends only.

  4. How to restrict my kids account from going into settings?

From what it sounds, you have the security settings for their account pretty well covered. There currently is not a way to block the view of those games available in Ready to Install, if it's designated as another users Home Console, automatically. Your
option there would be to manually hide those titles, which is a cumbersome task.

The best thing I can recommend is to submit those ideas to feedback.xbox.com and what you'd like to see implemented in the Family security settings. Let others support your ideas and let the developers see them!

    Closing account loopholes

My son has an adult microsoft account with child restrictions on our xbox one.

    ...

What would happen if he deleted my parent account? ... And is there any way to prevent him from creating a new account just to get around the restrictions? Its impractical for us to create a passkey to the console because we arent always around. I
just want to prevent the creation and deletion of any account...
First of all: You say your son has an "adult account". Adult accounts can be set up to be restricted, however as the system sees the account as "adult", the owner of the account can simply set these settings back.

I assume you just mistyped, and your kid has a "child" account with restrictions you set through your adult account, right?

    As for closing your loopholes:

Go to the Settings of the console, and under "System" choose "Control offline content". Set the setting there to prevent creation of new profiles.

If your parent account gets removed from the console, it doesn't matter.

Online and Privacy settings are managed online on the Live service, to prevent your kid going to a friend, signing into their console and thus "circumventing" your settings.

With the settings being managed online in the "Live cloud", no matter where your kid signs in, the parental restrictions will go with your kid, wether the console has your parent account on it or not.

As long as your kid's child account is added as a child account to your parent account, they can't change anything.

And it's recommended that if your parent account stays on the console, that you secure your own account with a passcode, that your kid doesn't know.

That way the kid is "forced" to use their own "unlocked" child account with the parental restrictions, instead of simply using your parent account to get around the restrictions.

Gold won't share to my kids account

Ok so I have done all of that, my account clicked on their gamer tags changed settings saved, then, removed the kids accounts from the xbox powered down, powered up added the one of the kids accounts and still get the following when trying to go online with
    a game...

To do this, change a setting

You are unable to see content that other people make because of how your account is set up. This can be changed in your privacy & online settings on xbox.com

I really don't get it, they basically don't have any restrictions at the moment on their account and they were playing fine on xbox 360 before this.

    Gamepass shareing

    Hi,

you should check if the second kids account is set to Home consle as well. This could cause a conflict. Yours has to be the only account set to Home console.

Depending on how old your second kid is the reason could also be the age restrictions of some games.

How do I require password to be entered for profile switching?

I am assuming you have a Parent Account and then Child Accounts for your kids. You can then adjust the content level of what you want them to play on the website and also restrict time of day and how long per day they can play. For example, I have my kids
setup to Teen and below games and they cannot play before 8am in the morning or after their bedtime at night. This ensures that I am awake and know what is going on in the house. I have Mature games installed that I play when I sign in but they don't have
    access to them.

Sign in to the Xbox, go to Settings --> Account --> Sign-in, security & passkey.

Set it up to "Ass for my passkey" for the Sign-in & security preferences. Create a passkey, it is shorter than a password and just uses controller combinations for login.

Then make sure that "Instant sign-in" is set to Nobody.

Then make sure "This controller signs in" is set to Nobody.

These options should make it so the system opens up and someone will have to sign in to play games. The kids accounts you can set them so a password and passkey is not needed.

I would also go into System --> Signed-out content restrictions

Set "Access to content" as Restricted

Set "Let people download & make new accounts" to unchecked.

This will limit what can be done without signing into with an account and will not let the kids "make a new account" and get around your parental controls.
