    how to backup and restore game on windows store

    im planning to fresh instal windows to 2004

    i got 1 game on windows store [gears of war 4 134gb]

    so download the game again is pain in the ****

    i know option in app&feature to move them into another disk drive ,already did that

    but that only move the game to another disk

    how about to restore them after i instal windows so i dont have to download all the game again because the size is over 100 gb really really really pain in the **** and the game folder cannot be opened

    please help

    you cant, windows store places the games in an encrypted folder and will not use that folder if you reinstall windows, you literally have to re install all the windows games.

    every other service like steam, epic you can just simply keep on the drive and add back in, Microsoft in all their wisdom decided otherwise.

    same goes for gamepass games, and no if you move them to an external, still the same result.

    Sorry to hear that. Been using the Windows Store for some games for a while now and never had a game delete itself after a graphics driver update. How odd.

    But for future reference, make sure Windows System restore is enabled. If it happens again you should be able to roll back to before you installed updated drivers.

    Yes, you have exhausted most of the options there is. How about you do a system restore and take the PC back to a date before 2 days ago? Could you check maybe you have a restore point for a date before the issue started?
