How to reset my Xbox 360 E console

If you actually go through the steps here and it has you type in some button pushes on the controller on the console it will actually reset your console also.

If you have the S or E model Xbox 360 there is an alternate way to reset the display settings.

How do I factory reset the console? I have an error code E 82 and i reset it like the old xbox 360's and it worked for about 5 minutes until I turned the console off by unplugging the power cord. then I went to power on again, it was back to the old error
code E 82 again.

what happens when you connect the xbox 360 with that HDMI cable directly to your TV, does it show anything?

Also just to be sure, did the console restart when doing the reset thing? Since it should, that's how to know it executed the reset, depending on the model there are different ways too. See the steps here:
