How to repair a WIRED controller?

Sounds simple, right?

So my wired controller is still under Microsoft warranty and I want to make full use of it due to a not insignificant loss of sensibility from the analog sticks. I try going through Xbox.com to do my repair order. Problem is, I can't register the controller
for the repair, serial number is either the wrong one (there is no other though) or is too long for the website (2 numbers too many).

So what do I do? Try my luck with the not-so-great Microsoft's customer phone service or sit in despair while I add an other controller with broken sticks to my collection? Or maybe there is an other option, I don't know.

Other then trying a factory fresh reboot of the console it could be that your xbox needs repair.

You can also look into a manual connection. I use a powerline ethernet adapter to wire connect my upstairs xbox to my downstairs router.

 

The repair needs to be put through if the controller was purchased recently. You would just need to set it up through the repair site or contact phone support to set it up.

 

I just noticed the ''Replace an accessory'' option at the Xbox Online Service Center. Would be great if the site worked correctly right now...

 

Great replace accessory option is grayed out, unable to do it from the website.
