How to remove parental controls off of my account?

I also wanted to ask if you are age of majority where you live (ie. 18 in North America)? The reason I ask is because if you are not you cannot promote your account to adult.

If your uncle has forgotten his Microsoft Account password, please inform him that he can follow the troubleshooting steps in this article here.

If your uncle has forgotten the EMAIL to his Microsoft Account (this is the email he used to sign into his account) then he can try the troubleshooting steps in this article.

If your uncle can't get back into his account and knows the email address OR the phone number to the Account, but he no longer has access to any of the security proofs (NOTE: A security proof is an email or phone number Microsoft uses to send a security
code to. This is to verify you're the account holder) then he can recover his account by filling out an ACSR form.

Have you got a family account setup at all, or parental controls?

That may be the issue.

Try asking your parent/guardian to turn off their parental controls, and reply if it does not help.

If your parent/guardian does not know how to turn parental controls off, tell them to promote the Xbox Live account to an adult one, instead of a child one. You may have a child account, instead of a full adult account.

Open a web browser and type http://account.microsoft.com/family in the address bar. In the webpage that opens, sign in with your account. You will
now have two sections, adults and children. Select the one you want to remove from privacy. If you want to remove yourself, you will be in the adult section. However, you will have to remove all the children before you remove yourself.
Go in either of the section, select the account you want to remove from privacy and click Remove.

Click on the heading that says User Accounts and Family Safety. Once you are in it, you will see Parental Controls. Click on it and set it to off. This will turn off the parental
controls that might be on for any user account. Keep in mind that the parental account will have to login and change all of the settings for the child account.

Only the parental account can remove the parental control from a child's account.
