How to remove Avatars and Accessories apps from home screen?

After some hours of experimenting I've been able to unsnap those listed in that region of the guide.

But how to remove that Xbox Avatars and Xbox Accessories are always there.

I worked with avatar once 2012 when I created account, why should that take screen space always.

When I press the Home button and side menu comes up where I can navigate to the Home screen or pick a place in the standard interface to go directly to. Below that is a list of games and Apps I use frequently. How do I manage that list (add or remove) items
from that list of apps, please?

To unsnap an app with your controller, double-tap the Xbox button to open the Multitasking tab in the guide and select Unsnap. The steps are also listed here:

If that didn't help, can you share a screenshot of what you're seeing? Might make it easier to give trouble shooting steps.

Thank you, Mistress Sara. That is how it is documented but get no action at all doing that.

These two, Accessories and Avatars - are not listed among snap apps - they seem to be part of games and apps and the apps section only. Then you get a listing of these two, but nothing to unsnap anything - just the pin to home thing.

I don't know if anything is changed now that as I understand games and apps is put on top right on home screen.

That a bug was introduced in this sense, you cannot get rid of these anymore with latest firmware.

Just guessing a bit here, but nothing like documented is working.

So under main big tile for latest run app, there are two rows always showing Xbox Accessories and Xbox Avatars. Don't know if a picture will tell anything.

Witth the apps listed in guide multitasking does not work as documented either, a lot of back and forth between app and the guide it suddenly show Unsubscribe and two other options as a menu. Just doing as documented, nothing happend going down to multitasking.

I get the feeling something is changed that cause this not to work anymore.

The intuitive way you try is to just select the app in multitasking and press Menu button - but nothing happends.

It was first starting the app, and then go back and forth many times - it said Unsubscribe.

But note, this was among apps listed in guide - this topic is mostly about those two that are not part of guide listing.

I'll do another topic about Snapapps separately - something changed from as documented.

Doing with LS left is not different.

Accessories and Avatars are not listed here, and no unsnap anything either.

What you expect would be to have those apps running listed.

And then go and select that app - menu button and there have the options.

Or possibly the left options button as is working for getting more details about a game and such.

Feel like something changed recently since documented.

 

So what documentation does not say is that you have to start app from Snap an app - then go into guide and multitasking - then it show unsnap.

But that is for apps that are listed there. Tested right now with Achievements and I can get that snapped and unsnapped.

But does not work for Microsoft Edge though, seems to be very different and you have to do many things - first remove from full screen so both games and apps are on the left and Edge a sidebar on right - this in home screen. Then you can move with LS and
select an unsnap option right there.

Why not simply have Menu button work on each listed in Snap an app, and get menu from that to unsnap/snap or whatever.

So again - Accessories and Avatars not listed among guide snap an app - what to do?

 

the tiles below the main tile are just your most recently used tiles. they will disappear as you use other tiles that take the place of them as recently used

Not sure though, sinze everything I used and quit - actually disappear from the list.

Those that remain have status snapped or are running still.

It is true some hang around a bit, but Accesories and Avatars hang around like they were snapped no matter what I do - and there is no unsnap available.

Hopefully I get my first games on disk next week and will come and feed back how it goes.

Thanks for sharing the images. MaximumExtreme is correct, the tiles under the main tile will change as you use other games and apps.

 

Accessories and Avatars are different than the rest in how they behave.

All other apps, I can have as main app, and a snapped docked sidebar on it as well - and when quiting main app, that one disappear from recent list, and next in recent list pops up in it's place.

But for Accessories and Avatars it just closing app if you select quit, but remains in big tile. And it always remains in recent list as well. And trying to do the trick to switch from guide multitasking it does not show these two as something to switch
between, just the unsnap of the docked sidebarr.

Experimenting with this I also discovered other peculiar things like there is a different version of Edge and Help, as two I tested - if you open it originally from snap an app or from games and apps listing. Pin from the wrong version running, which you
cannot see - you end up with unexpected results and always get fullscreen or always get docked sidebar snapped version.

Other peculiar things are that what you call recent list below big tile - they can be running or not - and it does not say anywhere until you open menu and there is a quit option.

And distrinction between recent list and docked sidebar snapping could be better explained I think. Overly complicated finding these things out.

I will see when my games arrives and I have installed and run some of them what happends.
