As others have said previously, the only real way to make sure the scammer can't log into your child's account is by changing your password.

I don't want to sound rude for telling you how to parent your child, but maybe talk to them about safety online and to not compromise an account for cosmetics in a free to play game - or any game for that matter. Sharing account information with anyone is
a good way to have a lot worse happen than just having someone else bum xbox live off of the account.

I'm glad it doesn't sound like they've made purchases with your child's account, but I'd advise caution in the future, the world is full of nasty people.

Be sure that you change the password to your account and cancel all forms of payment that may be on your or your son’s account.

if you have a credit or debit card linked to the account, contact your credit card company/bank and cancel the card and make sure there were no fraudulent purchases made by the scammer.
