how to recover password with no email

I have a huge problem... we have been trying to recover a password for our son's account now for months. It's a long story, but basically, we made this account for him years ago... I, being a strange overprotective mother, probably didn't enter his correct
birthday, etc... we moved, changed internet providers & emails... forgot all about changing his email/login account here on Xbox, as he just wasn't that "into it" yet... So we didn't even think about it. In fact, we didn't really understand Xbox Live back
then. We didn't know how crazy difficult things could be... I can access my credit cards & bank account way easier!! This microsoft is nuts!! So anyways, We also no longer have our landline phone, which was the only number we had listed on his account.
So now, to recover his password, is IMPOSSIBLE! He can still access his account, as it does not require him to login on his console, however, when I made my own account back in the day (just to use netflix) before we all has smart TVS & what not - somehow
his account has also been dubbed the "parent" account. So any changes made to anyone can not be done by me... and I am the 43 year old woman!! He can not look at his own stuff either.. or change it rather... as to make any changes, he has to LOG IN. He
can play his games & do everything, he just can't change anything.. including his password. So we are in a loosing battle! It is crazy! We have done the "answer these questions" section of the recovery numerous times, and always we fail. I have called
& microsoft has had us look at the console & give numbers...etc... with a promise to call us in the next 36 hours to VERIFY that we are who we say we are... but we never get a call. And when I call to check, we have to start the whole password recovery process
over again. It is completely exhausting! My son is now older.. and got an xbox one for Christmas. He wants so badly to move his profile over to his new console... but we cant! not without his password. He has spend A LOT of money on map packs & things...
and he doesn't want to completely loose everything!! So, is there a place in the united states that we could travel to? Pack up our Xbox consoles, show up with IDs and say HERE WE ARE! We ARE these people! We are NOT lying! We just don't have an email
- or a phone - associated with this account ...???? I would seriously drive somewhere to save this account! I do not know how to get this password recovered! I can prove that my paypal is paying for his account! I can prove that we are "Family". What
should we do? And where sould I drive? I really would! Take a couple few days vacation & just GO! Thanks for ANY advice or help! My son would sure appreciate it!!

:)

How to recover email and password with Gamertag?

Hey there!

That would be best for our chat/phone support teams to look into. Since our forums are public, and account information would need to be shared, starting out by going through
Contact Us page is the best route to take.

Feel free to keep us posted!

Hmm you should really try calling 1 800 4myxbox. However because you don't have a landline it make things alittle diffuclt. Try waiting for other forums people to post aswell. Makke sure you check back with the forums so you can resolve your issue.

I just went through the same thing.... but luckily, I added a back up phone number. A secondary means to get ahold of the account holder. And I was able too get back into my account. Good luck.
being a strange overprotective mother, probably didn't enter his correct birthday, etc
While basically a good idea, on Xbox Live the console uses the birthdate to determine if an account belongs to a child and can be restricted (good for "overprotective mothers"), or if the kid is considered an adult with no restrictions on purchasing, talking
to strangers etc.
when I made my own account back in the day (just to use netflix) before we all has smart TVS & what not - somehow his account has also been dubbed the "parent" account.
Did you also enter a wrong birthdate? Because only child accounts require an adult "parent" account. Usually you should have done that the OTHER way around.
I have called & microsoft has had us look at the console & give numbers...etc... with a promise to call us in the next 36 hours to VERIFY that we are who we say we are... but we never get a call.
I'm sorry to hear that.

Usually (from my personal experience) Xbox support is quite good in resolving issues.

However, in the past people (ab-)used Xbox support with stolen personal information to get hold of another persons account.

Maybe it'd help if you adress this issue more publicly on the
official Twitter account from Xbox Support
. Tell them that you have already contacted support and give them the case number from that conversation.
Thanks for ANY advice or help! My son would sure appreciate it!!
I really hope this gets resolved for you and your son. Since you say your son bought several map packs and things: Was that through prepaid gift cards, or through your credit card?

It'd probably help if your credit card is on file on these accounts. It would make identification easier, since you also say that your accounts have a parent-child relationship. Even if it's "backwards" that the account belonging to your kid is the parent
account.
