How to purchase Microsoft Points?

This sounds so simple, but I want to use my credit card to purchase Microsoft points for my daughter so she can buy games through marketplace on her Surface tablet.. For the life of me, I don't see anywhere to actually use a credit card to buy points, either
in the marketplace or on the xbox.. What am I missing?

Points can only be used on the account that they are on. So if you were to add points to your son's account to take part in a deal of the week promotion, you would have to make the purchase on his account.

If you buy the game with your account, any other account in the same console will be able to play the game and use all its features, including the multiplayer. Just remember that of your son's account must have a gold membership in order to play online multiplayer.

 

The points system was discontinued in August. You would have to purchase a prepaid gift card to add to her account.

 

I ended up buying a gift card at Amazon and got a code to use it immediately..

Why can't I just do that through the xbox or xbox.com? It makes no sense, I have to either buy a physical card at a store or go to amazon..

 

I'm not sure if it's something they'll add in the future, but it's just how it's been since they switched from points to currency.
