How to purchase a separate minecraft game

Up until now, both computers have been using the same minecraft game. I want to purchase a separate game on this computer so the kids can play together on the LAN and on the internet. I have created a new microsoft account. Now what do I do...when I go
to the microsoft store and try to purchase a new game of minecraft, it says I already have one installed. Do I have to uninstall the existing game and then go on line and get the new game?

Also complicating things is yesterday, I bought a Java edition of minecraft only to find out it isn't compatible with the microsoft version. The kids still can't play together. Would I have to uninstall that one too? This is all so confusing.

Make sure you are signed into the other account on Microsoft Store and java shouldn't prevent you from being able to install bedrock from MS store as they are different applications

Thanks for coming to the forums. Try accessing the new account and store on your phone and purchase the game there. If it still says installed you would need to uninstall and purchase the game.

Are you talking about Minecraft for PC or Minecraft for Xbox? These games are separate purchases (in effect, separate games). If you purchased for console, you can't install to Windows or vice-versa.

Minecraft for the console and Minecraft for Windows 10 are 2 separate purchases. If you have the game for your console, you would need to purchase Minecraft for Windows 10 in order to play it on the PC.
