How to play XBOX games on 360 Slim

One of my favorite games that's not available anymore is the Kelly Slater Pro Surfer Game, however, I only have the 360 Slim. I went through a couple of checklists on the internet before buying the game

1) Make sure its a compatible game List of Xbox games compatible with Xbox 360 - Wikipedia

2) Buy an OFFICIAL Hard Drive for my console. Not 100% guarantee, but the official one has the "XBOX 360" inscribed on the HDD cover. I went to Gamestop and not even the salesperson was aware of this. In fact, we went through a handful of XBOX 360S HDD
until we found one that had the XBOX 360 inscribed on it.

3) Login to XBOX Live and download the LATEST patch ( the latest dashboard should be DASHBOARD: 2.0.17511.0) and is available on

So anyways, I did all that, the sytsem recognized the HDD and IT WOULDN'T WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was wrecking my brains for two days until I finally tried something that was never mentioned on all my Google searches.

The profile that I was logged in was on my DAUGHTER's account! I had to login on MY account (obviously I am the administrator) and VOILA!! I am now able to play the game!

Something so simple yet so hard, lol.

Won't play xbox games?

So I have the newer black 360 slim, the one that has a touch sensitive ON button. I recently found that it will not play my original xbox games. I still have my first xbox, but I want to sell it for game money and just play its games on the 360. But my 360
slim will not play them! First, before I had a hard drive, it said I needed a hard drive. Once I got a hard drive I tried it again, same thing. How the heck do I play them on 360??

It's not a metal sound, but it is way louder than my xbox 360 slim when playing a digital game.

I'm not sure how to explain, but its like whirling sound, very differente from the 360.

What game are you trying to play?

There is an official BC list here:http://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-360/how-to/play-original-games If your game is not on that list, it will not work.

Does your console have a hard drive? The 4GB of storage in the Slim doesn't count as it is not a HDD (if you have a 4GB Slim).

If your console does have a hard drive, where did you buy it from? Only consoles with an official hard drive will load backwards compatible games.
