    How to play Sea of Thieves with my daughter on two separate devices...


    Hi Ladies and Gents,

    So, I'd like to play Sea of Thieves ( I'll refer to it as SoT from herein) with one of my daughters.

    I've subscribed to Game Pass Ultimate so, at least right now, the game is free to install and play. I can also buy it... but I'll come back to that later.

    I've installed SoT on my PC (Windows 10) from which I'll be playing the game. I simply use the Xbox app for Windows 10.

    I've installed SoT on my Xbox Series X from which my daughter will be playing.

    I've also installed it on my Xbox One X and might allow my second daughter to play the game with us too (but that's not essential).

    The challenges/problems:

    1. I've provided permission for my daughter to play SoT within the Xbox realm. But it needs me to sign in as the parent in order to launch the game (because I purchased it). When I do that, it signs me out of my Windows 10 profile which is no good as it means I can't play SoT on that device then.
    2. If I choose to sign out or not sign into the Xbox, it then prompts me to buy the game for my daughter. But we're set up as a Microsoft Family (so games should be shared, correct?) and I don't wish to buy another copy if I don't need to.
    My question are thus:

    1. Are we allowed to play two instances of SoT, but on different devices (and platforms at that)? If so, how best to proceed?
    2. Does it make a difference if I'm using the GamePass "included" version or does paying for a full copy of the game eradicate the challenges?
    3. If nothing else, how best to play one named game between multiple devices without having to purchase multiple copies?

    We would like to confirm the issue being experienced details the same account being used when playing Sea of Thieves?

    Is this occurring on two separate devices? As in one being an Xbox One console and the other being a Windows 10 PC?

    Clarify this for us so that we may further assist with the issue.

    Unable to Join Game or Accept Invites on Sea of Thieves after installing Steam version

    After uninstalling and reinstalling Sea of Thieves and the Xbox Game Bar many times, I am able to invite and accept invites on Sea of Thieves Insider through the Game Bar. I am able to send invites from the Game Bar for Sea of Thieves. However, when I receive an invite or try to join in on Sea of Thieves, I still have the same problem. Sea of Thieves and Sea of Thieves Insider are two different builds. There must be a file somewhere on my computer that is not being deleted or uninstalled and it's not allowing me to accept these invites on just Sea of Thieves. I don't know how to find this file.

    Xbox Insider hub problem with network try again.

    If you're trying to play the Xbox Insider version of Sea of Thieves, then be aware that this was the closed Beta before the game launched.

    Unless they added an Insider Version after I checked two days ago, you can't play that version, as the servers don't accept the Sea of Thieves Beta client anymore.

    You will have to buy the actual game, or have an active Game Pass subscription to be able to play Sea of Thieves.
