How to play in Xbox Live in pc with friend from Steam?

Thanks for reaching out here in Xbox Forums. I understand there is a question about playing with friends from Steam. There is currently no cross-platform play at this time between Xbox One, Windows 10 and Steam.

I would recommend checking out games that are cross platform. Within these games, you will be able to join and play together on the game developers server.

There is unfortunately no way to have crossplay between Xbox and Steam.

So it will not show my friends when i am playing a PC game that is on steam via the Xbox app. Because that is what he is saying within the video above, if you go to 1:52 on the YouTube video then you will see what i am talking about. He clearly mentions
the steam app and how your Xbox Live friends will be able to see what game you are playing via the Xbox app.

you don't need to link steam for him to play with friends on steam, all platforms use xbox live for that game and is fully crossplay.

all his friends need to do or himself is invite or be invited, if they invite him they just need to use gamebar on pc to invite regardless if steam or xbox app etc.
