Thank you for reaching out. I understand you have a pending balance on your account due to a subscription and your only payment method is your Microsoft Account balance. Unfortunately, you will need a valid payment option in order to pay the past due subscription.
Your account balance can only be use to purchase subscriptions, not to pay them off when they are past due. Hope this clears some confusion. Cheers

Sorry to hear that you're dealing with this issue trying to remove your payment instrument.

You cannot remove payment instruments that have outstanding balances. In this instance, I would suggest adding another payment instrument and settling the balance with Microsoft. Once the balance has been cleared you should be able to remove both payment
methods if you so please.
