How to pair an Xbox 360 Wireless Controller for PC with the new XBOX Wireless Adaptor for ...

I contacted your online chat services and was told that these two devices could be paired together.

However I have searched and not found a single piece of evidence saying they can.

Select Everything else.

and nothing has come up.

PC, as we will be needing to download a driver for the 360 controller. i

had a customer who has the same issue, and recommended to check for the

I just bought a new Xbox controller for Windows 10. But can't seem to quit get it to work. Do I need to buy the wireless Adaptor for windows? As I did not buy one yet?

So I have an Xbox One S with two wireless Xbox One Controllers already paired to it. But I recently got a Windows 10 PC and I want to pair one of the controllers to my PC. But I don't how to do that. When I turn my controller on, with a usb connected from
the controller to the pc, my Xbox console turns on. How do I pair my wireless controller, that is already paired with my console, to the PC? Do I have to disconnect the controller from the console (and if so, why)? Please answer this for me and thank you Microsoft.

Hi,

Sorry, I think there has been some major confusion here. The Wireless Gaming Adaptor for Windows 10, can only be used with a Xbox One controller. It
can not be used for the Xbox 360 wireless controller. This because the 360 controller uses a different wireless protocol.

Microsoft used to make the Xbox 360 Wireless Gaming receiver, but it was discontinued many years ago. You can buy third party unofficial ones from sites such as eBay quite cheaply though.

Note that if you choose to buy an Xbox One controller instead, the latest Xbox One controllers now fully support Bluetooth for wireless connectivity.
