How to move Xbox Gamertag subscription from work account to personal account

Hello,

A colleague has a Microsoft account that they have set up with an xbox subscription for their son which he uses. She also gets email, skype, and Microsoft Office via this account. Now she would like use this account exclusively for her own business and move
all non-work related items from this account to a personal account. This includes the xbox subscription. However, she does not want to lose all of her sons progress and purchases made in that gamertag account as a lot of money has gone into that gaming account.

Is there a way to just move the the gamertag/subscription to a new personal account with out losing content or the work account? Or at least have a separate login so that her son cannot access her account outside of xbox?

I have looked around and the only instructions I have found are to either change the email for the whole microsoft account (not just xbox) and how to change the gamertag name.

Any specific instructions and help would be great!

Hi, Thank you for reaching out.

Unfortunately there is no possible way to transfer the games progress and data for Xbox Profile to another account. Xbox Gaming service is like any other Microsoft Service( skype, Office...) they are all linked to one Microsoft account.

Therefore; the closest solution you get is to change the email address for the Account. Your friend must add another email as an alias, and then make that alias as a primary signing email. But your friend
must NOT remove or delete the original email. Otherwise, she will lose everything related to that account.

The only way to remove an xbox live account from a Microsoft Account is by moving the xbox live account to another Microsoft Account.

Be aware that an account can only be moved when of profile has been on a console for at least 30 days without being downloaded.

Hey Ecstatic,

Create a new Microsoft account using a valid email. You can then move your sons account to the new Microsoft Account and will be able to receive your codes from there.

You can not change the Microsoft account associated with a gamertag until 30 days after creation.

You can move a gamertag to a different Microsoft account only once every 30 days.
This includes new gamertags downloaded from Xbox LIVE.

Sorry, we can't change your Microsoft account right now.
