How to move gamepass installed games to another drive?

Hi, is there a way to move my outer worlds install from my HDD to my SSD without deleting and re downloading the entire game? It is very simple to do this on both Steam and Epic Games, so I would expect such a large platform like Microsoft wouldn't be trailing
behind it's competitors in this regard. That said I cannot figure out a simple way to do this, the gamepass files are locked and hidden as if we're children. Gamepass is ok but with the arbitrary limits placed on things like game files, I might just stick
to purchasing games through other platforms and deleting Xbox app etc altogether. Thanks if anyone has any ideas.

You can't just move the install folder and re-direct it like you can in Steam and Epic. Microsoft has decided to do things differently. Not sure why and it's one of the reasons I'm no longer using Game Pass at the moment. But anyway, to answer your question.

To move a Windows 10 Application or game to another - applies to Windows Game Pass titles too - Go to:

START > Settings > Apps.

Find your game in the list and select 'Move' to move the game to anther drive. In the example below I'm using Forza 7 (which I know isn't a GP title, but it is installed the same way).

Note:

In order for games to move to the target drive, that drive needs to be enabled to install Windows Apps and games. To make sure a drive is enabled go to
Settings > Storage > Change where new content is saved.

you can select any drive as a place to install but it will create the three folders and add certain system files to that drive, it will also make the folders it creates as system folders so you will not be able to access them, i currently have all my gamepass
games on a 4tb hdd, my windows install is on an ssd.

gamepass games can be moved to another drive but that drive will also then contain the three folders. it is a bad implementation and i would rather have something like how all the other work, where i can just copy the folder and shoft it over to another
drive if i please.

The hard drive that it is installed on is likely full. He'll need to either move R^ Siege to another hard drive or move another game over to free up some space on the hard drive that R6 Siege is installed on.

It's not a bug.

As terrible as it is, it is how it is meant to function. An awful design choice. Basically the 'WindowsApps' folders no matter what drive they're on can not be moved, copied or cloned. They're encrypted and moving them somehow breaks this encryption.

This is for all Windows Apps, not just GamePass. PC GamePass app is just a portal anyway, all games are installed via the Windows Store.

you cloned the drive with the gamepass games on before correct, if so that broke the encryption and you need to clear the gamepass folders from the drive and start over, they are encrypted when installed, they also take the hdd hardware signature and size and partition info into account.

what you could have done, is connect the new drive and setup as storage then moved the games over using the move feature in the programs and features menu.
