  1. How To Monitor XBOX 360 Bandwidth?

Hi all. I am trying to find a way to monitor my xbox 360 internet usage. It seems that when I am on my PC I can clearly see the relevant info with something like Netmeter and more recently, NetWorx. The problem is that I am at this very moment watching
Ferris Bueller's Day Off on my xbox (Netflix) and neither NetWorx or Netmeter show any movement. I currently have NetWorx set to real time and monitoring all connections but it is showing 0's across the board. Is there any way to know what the usage is for
in real time? I want to know what my 360 uses in game and while streaming and the same with my PC but I can't seem to find a program that does this very well.

My ISP has a cap as most do. The cap is 150 GB and I recently went over that by a lot. I am now aware of the situation and have attempted steps to resolve it. If you have any suggestions please do not hesitate. Anything at all would be helpful at this
point. I can't afford to go over again and U-Verse isn't yet available in my area so a bigger cap isn't attainable.

P.S. I earlier played through a game of Domination on B.O. 2 and afterwards saw that for the hour it was about 300 mb which I thought wasn't bad as I did proceed to watch many youtube videos in HD. I am going to now attempt another test through playing
a live game and watching the NetWorx meter in real time to see if there are any unusual numbers. If anyone can give me an approximation of how much usage would go into 8-10 hours a day of gaming I would greatly appreciate it.

I have more questions but am rambling so I will go run my tests and reply back in a bit.

    :)

As for as I know Xbox does not offer a usage monitoring system, however depending on your network setup/configuration you may be able to monitor this through your networks local control panel. Doing this may vary on what your setup consists of, contact your
    netwoek providor for more information.

What you can do is find a monitoring program for checking how much data is being sent from a certain MAC address connected to your router. This should work as it is all connected through it, even most likely your computer.

  7. So my ISP sucks big time but they know they messed so I am getting credit each time it messes up again. Apparently the website is not showing the right numbers for my data and thus the bill wasn't either. I still have some things to hash out with them believeyoume.

For now, I will say thank you for your responses and will attempt to find a MAC address "watcher" which is more difficult than it seems as even google associates it with apple pc's. Lol.

  9. Thank you Arceus. You seem to actually want to help. No offense but it is kinda hard to get people who want to help other people especially on the net. I appreciate your input greatly. I have found a couple programs as I previously stated but none of them
offer MAC address as one of the things they watch so I am just going to use what I got. I now know my xbox/gaming can not possibly be taking up so much bandwidth but I also know that youtube, popcorntime and netflix are not going to be running very often in
    my home.

If you can find one that does ping a conosle that'd be great but if not that's kool. Either way I will mark your responses as the best. How To Monitor XBOX 360 Bandwidth? :D Have a good one.

Thanks, and I hope I somehow helped, but I found some bad news for ya, sorry. Here it is, from an "AboveTopSecret" forum thread post.

that it will monitor each computer's bandwidth.

There's nothing you can do at the router level to monitor bandwidth from each computer separately, only totally on the entire network. "

That last part is the most important. I am very sorry that I couldn't find something useful enough for it, but maybe if I keep on learning how to program and make things on computers, I could make something like this in the future for all to use. Again,
sorry I couldn't find it, but I hope this at least informed you of how all this could work.

    Good luck,

WAIT! Scratch that! I have one idea thanks to forum posts from 2013! (Thx Archives xD) What you could do is (sorry here) buy a wireless adapter, like a USB one that can distribute a network connection out, like another router, then run a whole-network scanning
program as it would only scan your extender network, therefore monitoring the Xbox alone! This may or may not work, but it seems to make sense. If you want the original forum post where I got the idea from, here it is.
