How to manage ex-hard drive from laptop/Mobile with Win8?

Hi guys,

need your advice.. I've plugged in my Xbox One the external hard drive to use the Xbox One as the media player. My question is hw can I connect this external hard drive with my laptop, mobile and tablet (everything on Win8) to manage my files etc. on the
hard drive..

For now I have to everytime unplug the hard drive from the Xbox and plug it to my laptop..

i bought this hard drive for xbox one x and my xbox dont see this drive...when i connect to laptop everything is fine...but when i connect to xbox i just hear drive is start running led light are working but manage storage dosent see nothing....hard drive
was formated to NTFS on laptop

How is Ebay shipping from there? Since it is a Slim, you can easily get a 320GB hard drive from Ebay for $50US. Granted that almost all the 320GB hard drives are modified Western digital laptop hard drives but is pretty much is the same thing Microsoft
uses.

You won't be able to remotely manage the files on the external hard drive (like push from a computer). So you will need to unplug it and move it back and forth to add files. Alternatively you can use the "Play To" feature in Windows 7 or 8 and push media
to your Xbox or use the Plex app or something like that (which works amazing by the way).

Additionally you are now able to use the external harddrive with the DLNA feature which is supported by the one since the last update. So when its connected to your PC you may use it with the mediaplayer app.

Works fine from my Win8 laptop, can see the forum and posts just fine, but the last time I accessed the forza5 section of the Xbox forums from the opera beta browser on my Galaxy S3 mobile I got just an empty Forza5 forum..

How do you move a movie file to the internal hard drive?

The Xbox usually can't store media files on it's internal storage.

Instead, why don't you just attach an USB drive with all your movies to the console and play them from the USB drive? You can manage your movies much easier that way on your PC/Laptop, and just plug in the USB hard drive, and play your movies on the console
from there. No need to copy, move and manage your movies from the limited Xbox interface.
