How to make sure an Xbox disc is 100% readable ?

Recently I have started to collect some Xbox, Xbox 360 and Xbox one game discs. Since they are all used, some of them may have some minor scratches on them.

So I need to check some of them to see if they are 100% readable.

The best way to do this is to calculate the MD5Sum of the discs and compare it against other peoples' MD5Sums at redump.

One way of calculating the MD5Sum of the disc is to make an .iso image file of the disc and then calculate the MD5Sum of the .iso file. There are plenty of programs that can do this.

My question is, Can I skip making an .iso image file and directly calculate the MD5Sum of the discs ? is there a utility for that on Windows ?

    Many Thanks

    :)

We cannot help you with any activities not directly supported by the Xbox.

You still need the disc to play the game because it is with the disc that you prove you own the game. If the disc is readable it will work for sure.

Let me know how it goes.

    Batman Arkham Origins Retrocompatibility issue

Please check on https://www.xbox.com/xbox-one/backward-compatibility/available-games if the game is compatible and available in your country.
Make sure you actually visit the correct locale of your country (e.g. en-US for USA, or de-DE for Germany etc. in the URL when you visit the page. If it doesn't fit your country, select the proper country by scrolling to the bottom and changing to the proper
    country).

Also make sure that the disc is readable. At least the security sector of the disc has to be readable, because that is how the console detects which game version it needs to download.

Also, is the game a special version of the game? For example, is it the standalone game, or is it part of the Batman Arkham Trilogy?

    Xbox360 Can't Read Blur Disk

As Mister Fitzer stated, see if you can use another copy of the game. Also make sure that your disc is clean, has no scratches on it or any build up of dust or other possibilities that could affect the reading of the disc. If your disc has scratches on it
that could be a big possibility of it not being readable.

    HELP ME!

Even if you install an Xbox 360 game to your HDD, you will be required to have a readable disc to play it. You won't be able to play from your scratched disc, because when you install a game, the Xbox 360 still requires you to insert that game and have it
be read to verify you actually own it.

This is unfortunate, but it is a sure-fire way that fights pirated games. Long story short, you must have a readable disc to play a 360 game, weather you install it or not. Sorry.
