Outside of being wired, You may also want to take note of everyone else in your household using the same internet. People confuse fast internet with strong all the time. If others in your household are downloading, uploading, streaming etc. This will also
cause your ping to spike.

I'm normally sitting on about 30 to 50 ping when playing Fortnite. 28 ping is pretty good and unless you pay to have a sever installed at your house you not going to get much better than that.

28 is an absolutely amazing value. As everyone suggested go for wired for stable connectivity.

That is actually a decent ping especially for Fortnite and even more so for being on wifi. That game is somewhat plagued with connection issues and is one of the reasons I've stopped playing. You can download apps that will show your wireless signal and
you can tell if you're in a good or bad spot in your home for your connection with it. As always it's best to have a wired connection but that isn't always possible. Just know that depending on when your residence was built there could be stuff in the walls
that absolutely wrecks wifi.
