How to I create an offline profile

i took my xbox one to my friends house, installed the day one update and brought it home.

how can i now play my games offline? it tells me i need an internet connection to create a profile. i just moved house so do not have internet yet?

is it time to take this brick back for a refund as clearly MS lied when they said all you need is a day one patch if i cant create an offline profile.

Adding my partners Xbox 360 Username to the Xbox One

It sounds like you created an offline profile on your 360 for your partner. Unless it's an online profile with a unique associated email address, you won't be able to transfer it across. Your profile transferred, but your partners isn't attached to it, it's separate and offline on the 360.

I'd look at trying to convert the offline profile on your 360 to an online one, associate an email with it, then load that up in the One.

I have added my other half but that was porting it across from her Offline profile on my Gold Xbox live account

I know what you mean though, when I was trying to add her my username was ghosted and it became a 1 at the end. No idea how you actually add a user and then add the name sorry

 

That's correct, for securirty issues you can't create an offline profile, as it needs to confirm your identity and your account password.

Once you have your account created and the password stored in the console, you can play with your physical games with no problem at all.

Take note also that you can't play downloaded games without internet connection.

 

Lol!!! if I could return this junk I would. Looks like ill just buy retail, never buy digital and play on my ps4 for everything but exclusives because lets face it I am not restricted in any way with that console. MS is a joke seriously. Lie to get sales.

Why say you only need day oneatch if it isn't true. Hope they u-turn on this or its going to be a shockingly bad tome for them on the long run as ill definitely be spreading the word to all my friends (who are all gamers) to avoid this junk.

 

because you need the day 1 patch which means you have to have an online account

that was heavily advertised did you not read the ads?

having an online account makes your life easier since you can get the patches you need for all games

ps4 also requires a connection to the net due to patches that you have to install for every single game you purchase most games require a patch now

it just doesn't require gold

ps4 requires a paid membership fyi

 

Why does Xbox one HAVE to confirm your identity and account passwords, but xbox 360 doesn't have to? It seems like if one can get away with it, the other should be able to as well.
