How to get the "Good to be King" new achievement?

I've gotten at least 2 boards on each of TriPeaks and Pyramid where the last card removed from the board is a king, but still the achievement wouldn't pop.

Has anyone done this and if so, could you kindly share to everyone what's the trick?

I unlocked it retrospectively when I installed the DLC, not sure that will help your situation, but at least you know its capable of being unlocked. FYI I did have to play games of Klondike and TriPeaks to get the achievements for winning/clearing 100 games/levels,
even though I already met the requirements before the update. I think its a matter for getting the game to run through its achievement checking code and then they unlock.

I know you have checked this but I will ask anyway just in case. Are you playing the classic mode rather than the daily challenges or star club?

 

Thanks brydgesr, for sure I am playing the classic mode. But I am starting to suspect that you have to play in daily challenges or star club to get this achievement. Since it just automatically unlocked for you, I think you also have little idea about the
exact requirement for it to be triggered.

In Pyramid I had multiple times where the top card is a King, and I even cleared the whole running deck before clicking on that King to finish the board.

In TriPeaks it's more or less the same, I had a King as one of the 3 peaks, and I made sure it was the last card to be removed. One time I even ran to the end of the running deck and found a Queen to clear that last King, but still no luck. :-(

 

I have tried everything: With and without Joker Cards, different themes, having King as the last card of everything on the table including the bottom stack. And it still doesn't unlock!

 

Solution has been found for this: Reset Statistics. This will reset all statistics except Daily Challenges and Star Clubs to zero. All achievements and badges associated with Daily Challenges will be kept. Once you reset the statistics, quit the game, restart
the game, and go straight to Pyramid and Tri-Peak to get this achievement. MAKE SURE YOU FINISH ALL OTHER STATS ASSOCIATED ACHIEVEMENT BEFORE RESETTING STATISTICS!

 

SkinnyDecaf, I wouldn't call it a "solution". :-(

I've spent many hours to get my current statistics, which include a 8000+ top score for 1-card Klondike, 1212 for 1-suit Spider, 1038 for 4-suit Spider, 21000+ for Pyramid and 800000+ for TriPeaks. The only thing I can improve by resetting my statistics
is the percentage for FreeCell, which stands at 99% (112/113). I don't want to throw all those efforts away just to get a tiny achivement.

Any if it is a bug then it is the development team's job to fix it, not for us users to sacrifice our hard earned statistical records to help give them an illusion that their product is working in order. >-(

 

It was probably a good thing you didn't reset the statistics. I did and now I have to re-earn all the badges in Windows 10 version of Solitaire Collection. Loading up Windows 10 version also has shown me that my failure to get 'Marathon' achievement is definitely
a bug in the game - Windows 10 showed me as already accomplish that while Windows 8 version showed the achievement is still locked. *(^&%&^(^&*%^&*&*&)(*&*(&(*!!!!!!

 

SkinnyDecaf do I miss much by not upgrading to Windows 10? Are there any new features etc.?

Since August I haven't seen anyone else scoring in the daily challenges leaderboard. I'm starting to worry that the Xbox server is separating Windows 8.1 & Windows 10 users out into 2 different leaderboards because the scoring system has changed significantly,
or now you have 10 daily challenges instead of 5. :-(
