How to get the dumb xbox app to download the needed update for destiny 2?

This is probably the 10th time now where the xbox app wont download and install the update for destiny 2 even with automatic updates turned on. i tried forcing it to search for updates but it just wont work. this is not the first time asking for help and the only thing that solves it is waiting over 24 hours after the update goes live. everyone else is playing the game while im waiting for microsoft to get their **** together.

edit: i have now decided to install the game on steam instead and cancelled the game pass subscription on xbox because of this. ill have the game running better and faster on steam before microsoft even lifts a finger to fix it. i have never in my 28 years of life used a more incompetent service than the xbox app and i am never willing to use it again even if this singular event out of several in the past month gets resolved.

edit: i just finished downloading the steam version which is obviously already working while the xbox version is still failing to work goodbye xbox app i wont miss you.

tried that after restarting the xbox service with console commands. im way ahead of you. the xbox app and the microsoft store does not see a update when i search for one even after restarting my pc and forcefully restarting the service with console commands. the last update failed but the fix then for me was to log into the microsoft webpage and re-verify my account. obviously thats not the problem this time as every time is another failure outside of my control.

Which is better the first Destiny or Destiny 2? Also how do I implement Alexa with Destiny? I heard there was a way they can work together.

You'll need to go to the online alexa app (alexa.amazon.ca or alexa.amazon.com) then click on Skills and type in Destiny 2 Ghost. You can activate the ghost from there.

I'm having the EXACT same problem with all my games that require a update. Destiny 2 updates just about every other week and it will tell me I need a 48mb update but it downloads the ENTIRE 36GB game EVERY OTHER WEEK!

Just noticed that I needed an update for Halo 5 and at this moment it is downloading the ENTIRE 107GB Game. Earlier this evening Dishonored 2 needed an update (dont recall the update size) but it downloaded the ENTIRE 54GB game.

MICROSOFT, Whats UP with this???? How do we correct this. None of my XBL friends I've spoken to have this issue!!
