How to get one your other account if it got the same email and password on new xbox

Since I was young when I got my Xbox the account was made using my sisters email, seeing as though an Xbox account and Microsoft account are separate, how could I put the Xbox account under a new Microsoft account without deleting my sisters Microsoft account entirely? I’ve tried calling but have had no luck.

A Microsoft and Xbox account are actually not separate. They are one of the same.

If you change the Microsoft email on the account to an email of your own then your sister will lose her email address forever.

You can add your own email as a secondary alias however youd still use her password to sign in and anytime she changes her password shed have to give you the new one.

Long story short is there isnt any way to completely separate the two without one of you (either your sister or you) having to start completely over. (either you with a brand new xbox profile or her with a brand new Microsoft email)

SteveandBrianne did you use the same password on PSN, EA, or really anywhere else? A large amount of accounts where compromoised in other companies, and if you used the same Email/Password anywhere else it is very possible that is how your WLID got compromised.

What was the Tag anyways?

Password the same as other passwords? Dude, that's like wearing a HACK ME sign at a Hacker's convention. PLEASE make sure the password is different on the Xbox service, as hackers who get into an email account using the same password now have your Xbox password.

Sorry when I say the same account I mean the exact same Gamer Tag.

So in the same game lobby in Call of Duty WWII I played on the same team.

I took a screenshot of the game lobby to prove it.

I have double checked it over and over.

And if I look up my gamer tag it is showing my old avatar and not my new one. And it had the majority of my gamer points 12,303.

On my new console my gamer tag shows 300 odd gamer points.

It can not be the exact same gamertag there has to be some suttle difference in them again you can not be signed in with the same email and password on an xbox one console at the same time otherwise it will kick you out you can only be signed into one same
type of console at the same time ie.. one xbox one (whether it be a original xbox one, xbox one S, or xbox one X) or one 360 at a time now you can be signed into a 360 and an xbox one at the same time but not one of the same type.

And since COD WW2 is only on the ONE there is no way that you could possibly be signed into the same account on two different consoles so again there has to be a suttle difference in the gamertag somewhere.

Keep in mind with gamertags the system does not see spaces nor capitalization in gamertags so for instance gamertag, GamerTag, gamer tag, GAMERtag would all be the same account

But gam3rtag would be different then any of those

now when you signed in with your new console did you sign in with the same email and password that you had on your original account?

Did it make you create a new account?

When you got on your new console did it give you a different gamertag then you had on your old console then you picked a new one?

and like bowski477 said if its the same email account for both accounts once you go into account.live.com and change your password the other console should then require them to put the new password in when signing into the account and if they dont know it
then they wont be able to sign into that account. if they are still signing in after you changed the password then the email thats associated with that gamertag that they're signing into is not the same email as is on your current account.

I don't know what account I used in my old one. Just can't remember.

I believe I used the same one on the new one though, but cannot be 100% sure.

And I had my account not prompt for password.

Although I have since changed my password and also set the account to prompt for password every time on the Xbox now.

And just to clarify. Both are Xbox one's.

My old one was the original black Xbox One.

My new one is an Xbox One S.

And the gamer tags ARE the same.

I understand you say that they should never be.

But they are.

To me anyhow until there is some other logical explanation.
