1. How to get audio from Xbox One when using a monitor?

Hi, I'm using a monitor as a screen for my Xbox instead of my TV but because it's just a monitor it has no audio output so I was wondering if I could use headphones or a Xbox mic that came with the Xbox to play any audio through that instead and if that's
possible, how to do it? Thanks! How to get audio from Xbox One when using a monitor? :)

2. 7.1 Surround Sound

Using a fiber optic cable, connected from my Xbox One S to my A/V receiver, with HDMI audio Off, Optical audio set to Bitstream Out and Bitstream format set to Dolby Digital along with Audio Out Surround Sound enabled, I do not get a 7.1 signal (3/4.1),
I only get 5.1 (3/2.1). How do I fix that?

Has any hooked up the Xbox One using AVR-> Xbox-> TV and got it to work?

Has anyone been able to successfully connect their Xbox One using the AVR -> Xbox One-> TV setup? I am unable to get my audio from the HDMI devices hooked into the AVR to play through the speakers at the same time as Xbox One audio. I tried using an optical
cable from both the Xbox and TV to the AVR, but audio from my other HDMI devices still won't play.

How to get audio from Xbox One when using a monitor?

Hi Invoked!

If you can't use the HDMI port to supply the audio you could either use the S/PDIF port on the back of the xbox, or you could use an xbox stereo headset or something of that nature.

xbox one analog sound
Ok this sucks how are you meant to get sound on xbox one if your using hdmi monitor
The speakers on the monitor? The headphone jack?
and for sound i prefer to use my PC speakers how will this work
There's an
optical output. There are digital to analog audio adapters that cost about $20-$30 and will convert from optical to stereo analog audio.

Connecting Turtle Beach x12 to ASUS monitor on Xbox One?

What model of Asus monitor. If you're TV/monitor doesn't support HDMI and have an audio out port them you'll have to get the audio from the SPDIF port on the back of the Xbox One. Not quite sure what you would use to convert optical audio signal into an
rca format... I would check over at the avsforum.com

No Sound

Hi there,

what is possible and what is not in regards to audio is dependent on what type of monitor you are using and what cable you are using.

If your monitor has internal speakers then it should be possible to get the audio from those (when cable is HDMI).

Depending on what you are using you may require to use the optical out on the console to get audio to a different device to be able to hear it.

Please provide for example the make and model of the monitor and cable used, also check what audio input options are available on the external speakers.

Xbox One in monitor no sound

Hi Mayxze,

The sound is transmitted through the HDMI cable so you may need an audio receiver in between the monitor and your Xbox. Would you mind explaining how you have the Xbox set up to your monitor and are the speakers external or internal from the monitor?

You may need to find some speakers that connect using the optical S/PDIF port in the back if your monitor does not have internal speakers.

Here is how to set up your Xbox to an audio receiver:

I hope this helps!
