Sorry to hear you're having trouble. I'm afraid codes are region locked and there is no way around that. If you are not physically on the same region as the sender of the gift, you won't be able to redeem the it.

The sender of the gift can request a refund for the unredeemed code, you can try to have them go in this link and then check if they can refund the gift from there https://support.xbox.com/help/subscriptions-bil...

If the gift won't show up on the refund page but it is listed on your friends order history (https://account.microsoft.com/billing/orders), your friend may need to chat with support so they can help with refunding the gift. https://support.xbox.com/contact-us

Thanks for reaching out to the forums. We see you have a question on a gift card. Unfortunately, you did not purchase the gift card from Microsoft store. There would be no way of refunding unless your brother used code where he lives and gave you money back.
For future reference, there are codes for different regions. This is due to different laws and restrictions in these regions. You need a worldwide code or one specific for your region. As there is nothing more we can do on the forums. I will be locking this
thread to prevent repetitive answers.

Please refrain from creating multiple threads regarding the same issue. But are you asking about refunding the gift card or the content bought with the gift card?

If a gift card is redeemed, it can't be refunded. It would be up to the retailer you purchase it from as to if it can be refunded otherwise.

I added £15.00 to my childs account, i was charged and the money hasnt appeared in their account. How do i get a refund?

If you got it as a digital gift then you can request a refund at https://xbox.com/refund.

All Digital products from Microsoft are being refunded thru Xbox Refund form except for Office 2019/Microsoft 365/Windows.
