Microsoft issued a statement that audio through the 3.5 audio port on the controller will NOT work with Bluetooth. That's the reason for the bad audio quality. I would wait on it and see if a future uupdate fixes this issue.

How is your audio set up? Are you using a headset/base-docking station headset or are you using an amplifier connected to your console?

I have had issues with 3 controllers audio jack ports now. Including on brand new controllers. I also know a fair amount of people that have had the same issues. I find using the chat adaptor helps and also provides much better quality audio. It's
at the point that we open the controllers and change the ports ourselves now as they actually aren't even attached to anything in there. Please don't do this if you controller is under warranty as it will void it.

I've had a chance to finally play around with mine and I have to disagree with a few of your points. I think the charging dock is incredible and sits perfectly on my desk without taking up much room at all. The build quality of the controller feels superior
in almost every way and improves on multiple issues from Gen 1.

Sorry to hear that, Have you tried changing the audio quality for your Microphone in the sound ?

- Go to your Settings
- Navigate to Bluetooth & devices
- Select Devices
- Scroll down to Related settings and select Sound
- Select your audio input device under Input.

In the next menu, you should see Format under Input settings. Select an audio format that's no higher than 48000 Hz (DVD Quality)

Try recording a video in the Game Bar to verify whether or not the changes solved the issue. If that doesn't work, try adjusting the audio format by repeating the steps above to verify if any other format works.
