    How to Fix Xbox Controller Disconnect issue for Xbox Series X


    First a little history of the issue:

    I first had this issue on Release day and have had it since atleast once during every play session.

    The issue arrise when the xbox wireless connection gets disrupted and no devices (new controller, headsets, xbox 1controllers, basically any device that uses xbox wireless) will be able to connect to the xbox. I will call this issue the "xbox wireless disrupted" issue. its disrupted cause the xbox wireless signal is getting block,or disrupted.



    Untill now the only solution was to turn off the xbox hard reset style. take out controller batteries. and restart xbox.

    This issue has happen to me since release date, and its very frustrating as many of you know

    Here is the fix:

    The issue is with the new xbox series x controller ( i replicate issue when using xbox 1 controller). When the disrupt happens here is how to fix it. First remove the batteries (for me its the official rechargeable xbox battery). With no battery in the controller, connect the controller via usb to the xbox series x. Once this happens you will notice that the xbox wireless signal has been restored and devices like headsets will automatically connect back to the xbox series x. At this point the state of the xbox wireless signal is now what i call un-disrupted. if you unplug the controller (it will turn off) and put the battery back in the controller will work again, but eventually the xbox wireless disrupt will happen again. At which you can repeat the above process.



    Rather then dealing with this issue and repeating the process above, the alternative is when the xbox wirless signal is un-disrupted you can connect the xbox 1 controller and use that and have no issues.



    Ive tested this method a few times already on different days and it behaviors exactly how i described.

    Xbox Series X (Maybe One/One X too) stops recording when controller disconnects

    Thank you for the response but my controller is completely up to date. It actually just happened for the first time again with the xbox one x controller I was using. I think it's built in to the xbox series x/one x/one to stop recording if the controller is disconnected which causes this issue and makes the footage unusable. Not sure if you have a fix for that in particular but if not it seems it will continue to be an issue.

    Controller still disconnects even with a USB cable connected,

    I have the same issue with Series X using mouse and keyboard for Call of Duty Vanguard.

    I played during the beta and there was no problems with the controller disconnecting but as soon as the game released, the controller disconnects,

    I've tried a Xbox One controller Series X controller, with batteries and a USB cable, and the controllers still disconnects.

    A patch to fix controllers disconnecting on the Series X was released some months back. As for the current Alpha build, unfortunately I don't know when that will be released or if it will address the issue at all.

    I'm sorry to hear that you are experiencing disconnection issues with your Elite Series 2 controller on your Xbox Series X.

    First make sure the Elite Series 2 controller battery is fully charged. A low battery can cause intermittent disconnections. It is always advisable to use fully charged batteries or keep the controller connected via a USB cable.

    Check to see if firmware updates are available for your Elite Series 2 controller. You can do this through the Xbox Accessories app on your Xbox Series X console. Keeping firmware up-to-date can fix connectivity and stability issues.

    If you are using the controller wirelessly, make sure there is no nearby interference that could affect the signal. Move other wireless devices such as routers, cell phones, or other Bluetooth devices away from your Xbox and the controller. You can also try changing a wired connection using a USB cable to rule out wireless connectivity issues.

    If you have access to another controller, try connecting it to your Xbox Series X and playing for a while to see if you experience the same disconnection issues. This will help you determine if the issue is specifically related to the Elite Series 2 controller or if it is broader.

    Reset the controller settings You can try resetting the Elite Series 2 controller to factory settings. To do this, press and hold the profile and sync buttons on the back of the controller until all four LED indicators flash. Then, pair the controller with your Xbox again and check if the issue still occurs.
