How to fix “USB device not detected”

I have previously connected my meta quest 2 to my laptop to play pc vr games, but haven’t in a while due to one of my controllers breaking. I just got a new controller for my headset so I was gonna set up my oculus again to play. Not sure if this could have anything to do with my issue, but before I tried reconnecting my headset, I had reset my laptop in hopes of clearing some unnecessary background processes and stuff for better performance. Anyways, a while after reseting my laptop, I wanted to play a pc vr game I have on steam. After the reset, I had to redownload the oculus app to laptop, which I did. Then, I plugged in my oculus USB-C cable from my laptop to my headset to see a notification pop up in the corner of my laptops screen. It read something like “USB device not detected”. And usually, in my headset, I would see a question asking if I would like to enable oculus link with my pc but nothing came up. I’m really not sure what to do here… Apologies for the inconveniently long question I thought it might help you to know the whole story….

Disconnect the device from the computer and then reconnect it to a different USB port. Make sure that the port is functioning properly by connecting a different device to it.

If you are using a USB hub, try connecting the device directly to the computer instead.

If the device is not recognized when it is connected to a different USB port or directly to the computer, try restarting the computer.

If the device is still not recognized, try using a different cable to connect the device to the computer. The cable may be damaged or not functioning properly.

If none of the above steps help, it is possible that there is a problem with the device itself. In this case, you may need to contact the manufacturer for further assistance.

These unfortunately did not work

I'd like to clarify what the error exactly says though. This is super odd because I used to be able to connect my headset with a cable with out a problem.

It is formatted for EXFAT and the Xbox will detect NTFS storage devices. I'd find a storage device such as a USB that you don't often use and re-format it to run NTFS (It'll clear the memory on the device if done) And the device will need to support USB
3.0.
