    How to fix my gamertag.


    I have not used my xbox360 in a long time, because I have switched to PC (using Win 8.1) years ago. When I set up my PC, and linked it to my xbox live account, the PC was using the correct gamertag. However, I noticed today that the gamertag was changed.
    I am the only one that has access to the PC, and since I am disabled, it is impossible for someone else to use it without me knowing since it is always in the room with me.

    My original gamertag is Sumnerguardian. The one that it was changed to is Embodingpig64 (a gamertag that I NEVER used). When I tried to change it back to Sumnerguardian, it is now saying that that gamertag is already used. Did someone hack my gamertag, or is
    this another glitch with Microsoft?

    I am using the same email address that I last used with my console. So I know that all the information that I put in was correct. And I did have the correct gamertag on me PC when it was setup. I just don't know when it was changed, because I don't use xbox
    live hardly at all anymore. I mostly play MMOs, or a few game apps. But a few of them that I started using recently use xbox live, and I just saw the gamertag earlier today, and realized it was changed.

    I would like to keep all the progress I have made in my game apps, but want to have my original gamertag back, since it was mine to begin with. Can someone please help me with this?

    Hello Jalen, sorry to hear you're having trouble with your gamertag change.

    When you change your tag it can take up to a week for the change to fully populate across all accounts. If you'd like to try speeding up that process you can try deleting then redownloading your gamertag to the console.

    Please be sure that you know the email/password for your account if you try this.

    There are 3 accounts on Xbox with that same tag. In order to have it without numbers, you would need to be the only one who has it. So there's no way to remove the numbers currently.
