    How to fix microphone in an Xbox party chat for PC?


    Every time I join a party chat my microphone works perfectly fine but then after a while my microphone stops working. Like in Call of Duty BO6 I can hear the game and the lobby plus the party chat, but in a party chat they can't hear me all of a sudden. And the voice indicator that surrounds my profile picture doesn't show that it's picking up my voice at all. I checked my PC and Xbox app settings and default the sound input/output to my headphones. I tried the "Gaming Services Repair Tool" within the app. My drivers, PC, Xbox App is all up to date. I never had a problem with this until the update, and this is what I found from the last update.

    Last update information for the Xbox App on PC.

    App Version number: 2505.1001.9.0

    Bug Fixes: Resolved an issue where some users were unable to be heard or hear friends in party chats.

    Looks like I still have that bug and it's frustrating.

    Please fix.

    Windows 10 Xbox One Streaming microphone not detected?

    That generic support doesn't really apply here. The problem is with a PC microphone, not an Xbox One microphone. The Xbox App on PC detects the mic and it works if I start a party via the app, but it doesn't work in any capacity on the Xbox One for parties
    or game chat.

    I think the Blue microphones are all USB microphones, so I'm not sure you'd be able to use it for stream chat on your PC and game chat on your Xbox console at the same time. It's probably possible if you use the Xbox app on your PC for party chat though.

    Try this:

    Check the Kinect microphone setting

    If you’re using the microphone in the Kinect sensor for chat, make sure no headsets are connected to your console (wired or wireless). Then, make sure the chat microphone on the Kinect sensor is on.

    To turn on the Kinect chat microphone:

    Sign into Xbox LIVE.

    Press the Guide button on your controller.

    Select Chat & IM.

    Make sure the Kinect microphone is set to On.

    You can talk one to one with someone playing a GFWL providing you both have microphones. However there is no party chat on the PC.
