How to enter password!

I am having the dumbest problem but I have no idea how to fix it. I cannot log into my Xbox one because once I enter my password I have no way to submit it. There is no button that I can press on the console controller or remote control to actually enter
the password. Please help!

I saw a video on YouTube where someone entered their password by pressing the button with the three lines on it. One my screen that buttons doubles as a backspace button. So when I press it it just delete my password.

I'm not sure what happened here.

The way me and my friend did it as to not worry about passwords is to bring up your password change settings on phone or PC first. Then go to home console, enter his gamer tag and enter password. As soon as it logs his in, have friend apply his new password on phone or PC that you had setup first. Log friend account out. Log you back in. Have friend do same on his. As long as you change your password and as long as your account gets logged out of other console, your account cant be accessed without giving new password.

How do I enter network password, when prompted to enter password it doesn't show any text

 

Try pressing the A button.

 

After typing your password press the menu key, looks like three stacked lines on right of Xbox button.

 

It should say on the on screen keyboard in the bottom right corner that the Menu key is enter.

Either highlight that and hit 'A' or press the menu key on the controller. (That's the one in the middle on the right with 3 lines stacked on top of each other.)

 

Yeah that is the key that acts like a backspace key. When I hit it, it deleted my password. I don't understand it.

 

Yeah so on screen, it has that key doubling as a backspace key. I am guessing it shouldn't be that, but I don't get it. It just deleted my password when I hit it.

 

When I hit A, it just chooses whatever key is highlighted on the keyboard. Like, the A key and stacked line key never end up acting like an enter key, they instead just keep performing typing functions.

 

Someone possibly changed the button mapping on your controlller?

1. Select your controller in the app and choose Configure.
