    You can easily reduce energy while you are using the Xbox. For this you need to follow these steps:

    • Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the menu
    • Head to profile and System
    • Find the Settings on the appeared menu
    • Press General
    • Select Sleep Mode and Startup
    • Select the Sleep Mode option
    • Open drop-down menu
    • Select Energy Saver
    • Press enable it

    Just to add to this, if you do put your console in energy saving mode, then you will lose the remote play option for playing your games on your mobile or tablet device. So if you do use that feature, then leave the console in standby mode.

    Which mode is your console set to:
    Instant On or Energy Saver    ? And do you have background downloads enabled? It sounds as if your console is downloading/installing updates while in instant-on mode. Try changing it to energy saver and see if you still experience the issue. :)
