How to download Halo 2 on my pc using original CD product key

As far as I'm aware that version is no longer available as a digital purchase and there is no way to download a digital only version of the game anymore.

A new version of Halo 2 can purchased on its own or as part of the Master Chief Collection on the Windows Store or Steam ( I prefer Steam). Its system requirements are higher, but you can play it with the original textures if you wish.

Other than that you'll either need to replace the drive or buy an external USB DVD drive.

if it is a disc version of the game and you don't have the disc now , it won't work .

You need the disc for any game to check license unfortunately.

Games for Windows Live is no longer supported. This is a remaster of Halo 2 and not the same thing. Youll have to buy Master Chief collection or use gamepass

This is assuming that you are using a downloaded version of the game.

• Go into the Games for Windows Live program on your PC.
  
• Click "Downloads"
• Click on the game (Halo 2)
• A drop-down will appear with "View Game Keys" at the bottom.
  
• Click on "View Game Keys", and that will show you the CD Key.
  

Thanks. I'll try that. It does require you to input the product code, however halo 2 vista allows you to play a more limited version of the game without using the CD key while you have the disk in.
