    Can someone give me a short 101 on downloading to flash drive my son's minecraft content/saved stuff and then using flash drive in a friends console to play it ?

    if you can’t play or use previously downloaded content, it may be because you're trying to use content associated with another console, and you are not signed into Xbox LIVE. To fix this problem, try the following solutions:

    -

    Solution 1: Use the gamertag used to purchase the content

    Sign in on your console by using the gamertag that you used to purchase the content.

    Try to play or use the content.

    Note If you recently transferred content to a new console, you can play the content on your new console if you sign in using the gamertag that originally purchased the content. If you want to use the transferred content without signing into Xbox LIVE or
    with a different gamertag, you’ll need to transfer the content licenses to your new console. For information on how to do this, please see Xbox 360 Digital Rights Management. located at this link

    Solution 2: Delete and download the content again

    If your console was repaired or you used the license transfer tool to transfer licenses from one console to another, the locally stored licenses might be out of date. You must download the content again to update the locally stored licenses. Here’s how:

    On your console, sign in to Xbox LIVE using the gamertag that you used when you originally purchased the content.

    Go to Settings, and then select System.

    Select Storage, and then select the location of the item (for example, Hard Drive).

    Select Games & Apps, and then locate the game and select it.

    Select the item that you’re having a problem with, and then select Delete.

    Return to Xbox Home.

    Go to Settings, and then select Account.

    Select Download History.

    Select the item that you are having download problems with, and then select Download Again.

    Yes, you can transfer content licences from one console to another once every four months.

    If your console was recently repaired or if you’ve purchased a new console, use the licence transfer option on your console to transfer content licences. Here’s how:



    1.On your console, sign in to Xbox LIVE using the gamertag that you used to purchase the content.

    2.Go to Settings and select Account.

    3.Go to Your Billing Options and select Licence Transfer.

    4.Follow the instructions to transfer the content licences.



    After the licences have been transferred, you need to download the content again to update the local licences. Then the content can be used by other profiles on your console and when you’re not connected to Xbox LIVE.

    Regarding licence transfers

    If the local/console license is on the console you wish to use, it shouldn't matter how you transfer the content itself. Be it cloud game saves, downloading, flash drive, or transfer cable. I have moved content from one console to another by simply swapping
    HDDs and then moving the content to the internal memory.

    the items he is trying to use, were they bought with his account or a different account?

    Only the account that bought the content is able to redownload it to a console.

    Also be aware that if licenses were transferred from one console to another they will still be downloaded with the owner account to make sure the licenses are on the console.

    Hi there,

    in order to play DLC/Games bought by other accounts then the buyer account the Licenses of that content needs to be present on the console itself. When the license is on the console any other account should be able to use that content.

    When a new console is bought, the thing you will need to do is to transfer the licenses to that new console, this has to be done by each account that bought any content you want to be used by other accounts on that console.

    Be aware that licenses can only be transferred once every 3 months and you will need to redownload the content after the licenses are transferred.

    You don't have to delete the content prior to redownloading it and redownloading it can be done via the Download history for the account that initially bought the content.
