How to download beta/alpha games while away from the console?

Sup, guys!

I buy all my games digital, so I'm quite used to checking prices and buying from the xbox store during my lunch break, so when I get home at night the game is ready to play. For some reason, I can't find this option on alpha/beta tests I get invited to.

I redeem the code correctly, but it doesn't greet me with the "your game will be ready to play" message.

Am I doing something wrong or the option just isn't available yet?

Doom Closed Beta code used?

That isn't how it works unfortunatley. You got into the Alpha from registering for the Beta (they selected a certain amount of users from the Beta for the Alpha), you weren't entitled to the Alpha, that was a bonus, you were only ever entitled to the Beta
code

 

For Honor

 

Go into settings then select the tab that has power. There you will find the option to put your console on instant on and be able to select download updates while in instant on mode. Hope this helps.

 

Hi PedrosoBR, I was invited to the Evolve Alpha recently and I am pretty sure that it automatically downloaded mine. But, when I was in the Destiny Beta I had to download it from home after putting in the code from work. So I am not 100% sure.

 

It usually does when I redeem beta codes on the console, but it doesn't when I redeem them on the website. The automatic updates option is already on and works as planned for "regular" non-beta games.

I'll check the configuration when I get home today, Got invited to The Crew beta and can't wait to test it.

 

@Maximum his console is already setup that way or he would be waiting for his other games to download when he got home from work.

@Pedro I am not sure if you can do it with Betas/Alphas unless they are open. This isn't content that is in the Xbox Store so you may be out of luck.

I can 100% confirm it should work with alphas. I redeemed my code for the evolve one on the xbox.com site while at work and by the time i got home from work it was already downloaded and ready to go.

 

@spiff, thats becuase for the destiny and titanfall alpha's pre load wasn't available then. it worked for me from the site with evolve and should work fine going forward
