  1. How to download a game on a Different Directory?

    Hi,

I'm having difficulties to download games on my PC with Game Pass... When I click to download it asks me where I want to download (Image: https://prnt.sc/16d67bm ) and I want it to be on my HD, but them it says "This location is not set up to install games. Set as the location to save new apps."

Then I click in there and I'm redirected to this Windows Config Page (Image: https://prnt.sc/16d6okl ) So I put my HD to be the default one, click on Apply and this message appears saying that to change the default place for app's download it first needs to delete every other apps there is in there and I'm afraid to do this and every single app I have on my HD would be deleted...

Then when I click on "no" this other message appears (Image: https://prnt.sc/16d76xt ) saying "Could not set default save location" and this error code.

So I came here to see if you guys could help me to solve this problem and I be able to download my Game Pass games on my HD (as I have more space in there) and not on my SSD (as I don't have much space in there).

And just one more thing... If I download a EA Play game on my Game Pass by the EA Desktop app, in there asks where I want to download, and if I put the HD it works totally fine, just because it is downloaded by the EA Desktop and not by the Xbox app. I use Steam, Epic Games and other ones too and they have no problem with this.

PS.: All texts on Images are in my mother language, Portuguese.

    Thanks,

How to download a game on a Different Directory?

It is good if you have your solution. I have bigger problems. My SSD is about 250gb. I'm a music creator and only native instruments collection takes up 1.1 terrabyte. So already there is my drive more than 4 times too small. It needs to be installed on my C: - drive in the exactly right folder in order for my music program to find it. It is terrible that this xbox games needs space there as well.

But this is how it is: I already have 2 extra internal drives of 500gb each. They are separated drives as it seems. And then i also have my 5 tb external drive. If I cannot save any programs or games on any of these drives that is terrible. Yes I cannot even save on any of the built in drives. I have tried to change the save to folders location and with administrator priviledges and everything.

And even if I'm going to buy a new drive then I don't know if I can install it on that one. I've been looking for an answer if I can use another drive as standard but without positive result. Because if I try to install a game on another drive it always fails. I bought this computer second hand because of the specs. But it's really a downside that I cannot use any program files on my other drives than C:. If I knew this maybe I would have been buying another computer.

I can play games like Forza Horizon 4 so it's a shame that I have very little space. And my Xbox is temporary broken after an update so I'm stuck with just a few games (maybe 5) on my PC, of the hundreds of games that I have on my Xbox and I cannot see a reason to buy anymore games now until this problem is solved since I can only install like one game at a time. I also have a "Official Xbox drive" with saves on it but I've only used it for my Xbox and not tried it with the computer. I also don't know if it saves the whole games there or just the game file.

So this is not just a Xbox/Win 10 problem for me, but a Microsoft compatability problem. Everything else is working fine. It's just that Win 10 cannot save programs or games on other drives as far as it seems. That is my issues. And also my problem is how to have a much bigger drive where I can install all programs and games in, as standard. With or Without windows and I don't care if it is SSD as long as I can install whatever I need.

I think the solution is to buy a new HD or SSD only for use in Xbox Game Pass games, so we don't need to erase everything we have on our current HDs and SSDs. Maybe a 200GB is enough for the Xbox Game Pass games you want to play and a HD with this band is really cheap 🙂. I'm probably gonna do this...

I have the same problem. Checked on an ongoing thread first but apparently they locked the old thread without solving it. Normally they lock the new threads because there is already an old one. There is 141 people who wants the question solved in the old thread. Well anwyway.. who have a sloution for this? Can only install a few games on my SSD. Installing on my 5TB external would be much nicer.

FS2020. Stuck on set your experience screen

This seems to have done the trick:

    https://www.reddit.com/r/MicrosoftFlightSim/comments/id36nz/if_the_screen_freezes_on_welcome_set_your/

Delete the latest directory in your C:\Users\(Username)\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_[something]\LocalCache\Packages\Official\OneStore\ directory OR

For Steam users, the C:\Users\(Username)\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator\Packages\Official\Steam\ directory.

The update seems to have crashed and won't continue the update. Once the last downloaded package directory is deleted and you restart the game, it resumes downloading the updates.

At least that's how it worked for me...

    Download directory of xbox games

Hey Luffy! There is definitely a way to download games onto other external storage devices.

Just make sure the external device you choose meets the requirements which are,

    • Hold 256 GB or more
    • Connect via USB 3.0
Use this link for more info https://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/console/manage-storage
