    Can Xbox Live Monthly Free Games Be Downloaded To A External USB Drive?

    Hello,I have a Xbox360 S Console with a 500GB hard drive and a 1GB External USB hard drive connected to the console.My question is.Can I download the free games from Xbox Live to the external drive,instead of the 500GB drive inside the console? The main
    drive is getting full,and I'd like to download the free games to the external drive,and be able to see them and play them through the Console? can this be done in settings some how? Thanks for any info on how to do this if possible.

    External hard drive will not load games

    I have a problem with my WD my book external hd. We lost power, a week ago, then all I could get to show on both internal, and external hd's, was the 360 games, I had downloaded a while back, not any of my xbx1 games. I finally unplugged my external wd
    my book hd, and all my xbx1 games appeared. I'm not sure why, but I am guessing the power outage did something to my my book hd. I now show only xbx1 games, no 360 games, doesn't make sense. I just might buy a Seagate 1 or 2 tb hd, see if it works out better,
    don't know how to check wd hd to see if it is functioning proper.

    Hello Ethan, one way or another the console will always give priority in the space that over from the HD to the games that is running so as not to affect the gameplay, which I always suggest is to put an external HD with USB 3.0 to media and direct all recordings of clips to it.

    Yup.

    Just make sure you use your account to redeem and download the game onto your external HD.

    Then put the HD in your console and you're set.

    What you could do is to ask a friend to download the games into a external HD and give you that external HD and plug it into your console.
