How to delete cloud saves for Xbox 360 game from Xbox Series X console

What Xbox console are you referring to - Xbox 360, Xbox One or Series X|S? Please specify the exact model.

Either way, whether the game saves are recoverable would depend on if you deleted them from the cloud or just the console (so the hard drive) itself.

If you cleared the saves from the cloud, this is permanent and there would be no way to recover them. If you only cleared the saves from the console (this can actually sometimes resolve various issues), however, then any saved progress should simply resync once you relaunch the respective games as long as you have an internet connection to Xbox Live. Cloud saves should be enabled by default in storage settings on Xbox 360, and there’s currently no option to toggle off this feature on the newer consoles.

Even if you completely factory reset the console, this wouldn’t necessarily affect anything saved to the profile(s) and you can always backup, move or copy data. It’s just not possible to transfer anything between accounts, game saves are unique to an account/profile.

Also, if you delete a profile on Xbox 360 and select the ‘Delete Profile and Items’ option (not ‘Delete Profile Only‘), this would delete any associated games and achievements from the specific profile.

Hi there, you're welcome! No please don't delete the games you have installed. There should be an option on Xbox series S as well to delete local save storage for xbox 360. Since Xbox 360 backwards compatible games also runs on Xbox one up to Xbox series X.

Try going to Settings > System > Storage > Clear local Xbox 360 storage this option should show up. It will delete the saved games locally but the cloud saves will remain.

Unfortunately, you cannot directly connect your Xbox 360 hard drive to your Xbox Series X. However, you can still transfer your saved game progress from your Xbox 360 to your Xbox Series X using cloud storage¹. Here's how you can do it:

1. On your Xbox 360, sign in to your Xbox Live account.
2. Go to `Settings` > `System` > `Storage` > `Cloud Saved Games`, and select `Enable`.
3. Start the game on your Xbox 360 and save your progress to the cloud.
4. On your Xbox Series X, sign in to the same Xbox Live account.
5. Start the game on your Xbox Series X, and your saved progress should be available.

This moderator is clearly copying and pasting old data from the Xbox One days. This troubleshoot doesn’t work on Xbox Series X or S consoles.

“Cloud saved games” isn’t an option anymore.

I can’t find how to force a cloud sync. I can’t play Starfield on my other console in another room because the data won’t sync.

What’s the point of cloud saving if it doesn’t actually save???

To add to what Gerardo said, when it comes to game saves for 360 games, the only way to transfer them over to an Xbox One/Series console is to upload them to the Xbox Network from a 360 console. If you've done that, when you launch a 360 game on your Xbox One/Series console that you have progress on, it will download a copy of the save from the cloud and you can continue on from where you left off. If you didn't upload your saves to the cloud, you'd have to start over from scratch unfortunately.
