how to create weapons with slots?

I am near end game and have a ton of schematics. However, every time I craft something there are no slots for me to socket runes, grips, etc.. I saw an image of someone with a socketed crafted item, but I have no way of knowing if this is chance. Please
help!

More Third Person Shooter Than RPG?

When creating a weapon that would not overheat you had to accept that it wasn't the most effective.

To create effective weapons you had to take overheating with it.

Or better yet ... a way to create arrows!? How about a way to enchant said arrows with either elemental or poison attributes!

Freeze or set an opponent on fire? Shoot an electrified arrow into a pool and shock all of the enemies? How about an arrow which summon an Atronach in the midst of an enemy lair and you sneak in to mop up!

You only create a weapon when forging and give it offense and defense characteristics as well as a base attack. Sometimes you add a masterwork ability depending on the schematic.

To add the runes and grips and pommels you have to go the modification anvils. Instead of "craft weapon" it will say "modify weapon" and that's where you add the runes.

I got it figured out. It was just some armor I was crafting didn't have slots, but i think it's just some of the schematics. I know how to use the modify and such, but thanks for the reply.

Hunt! shorltly into the story you will be taught how to craft gear. you hunt deer, pigs dogs (all animals) for the right skins/leather to craft more wepon belts (or slots) or hold more ammo or more inventory etc. etc.

Yep....Nos is right. This adds a really cool element to the game, unlike malaria....

If you click on the empty slots, you should be prompted to choose a weapon to equip on the right side (where it will currently say 0/3 or something like that, move your thumbstick to the right to bring up your available weapons). Each slot represents the
type of weapon, like one slot will be for snipers. Your sniper won't equip automatically so when you're at the weapon bench you need to open the slot and select it.
