How to connect Xbox360 to a standalone PC monitor?

Hi, i just bought the cables i needed to connect my 360 to a pc monitor i had lying around(not connected to a pc). the monitor runs 1080p when i conect it.

thing is that i dont get sound, i know the monitor itself doesnt have speakers.

i have bought computer speakers and they didnt give out sound

i also bought an adapter for my turtle beach x12 headset so i can get sound but when i have the adapter connected my xbox keeps turning on and off by itself and doesnt even get to the usual xbox 360 start up animation. the adapter is connected to the a/v
slot like it is supposed to be and the hdmi cable for the monitor is connected in the hdmi slot.

this problem only happens when i have both connected.

anyone who has set up a 360 with a pc monitor please help i would greatly appreciate it.

You need a LCD or CRT Computer Monitor a stereo female RCA to male 3.5mm Cable Which Is needed to get the sound from your computer speakers and a Xbox 360 VGA HD AV Cable if your monitor does not have a component port.

Everything I have seen about the Day Z standalone not coming to xbox was before the 180. But seeing how slow the work on the standalone has been for the PC it may be some time before we see it on PS4 or Xbox One.

it depends on the king of monitor you're using.

For example if your monitor has HDMi, you should buy an HDMi cable, if your monitor is a little older, it could have a VGA connection, there are VGA cables for Xbox360 as well.

Yep, that should do it. Personally I prefer to use speakers for the sound, but at least everything will work using the headset. If you have a hifi, an iPod dock etc you can probably plug the red and white audio leads into that however. Note the red is for
the right hand side sound and white if for left - Red is Right!

Just check that you get the correct lead to plug into your Xbox, the older boxes had a different connector if I recall.

You will need an adapter like this one :

Connect the red and white cables from the Xbox to it and then plug the adapter into the audio in input on your computer.

I had this VGA cable a while ago and if I´m not mistaken this adapter came with it. Before buying it you may want to verify it. If it´s not bundled with the cable you can buy one of this in any eletronics store.
