Ive just changed ISP from Sky Fibre to BT Infinity so no real change in speed yet when I try to connect my Xbox One X to xbox live the new BT Smart Home Hub it wont do it for more than 10secs then disconnects then reconnects etc etc on the sky hub never
had an issue once with this, I have managed to connect by wifi to the BT home hub but im not a great fan of wifi for gaming so any help would be appreciated.

Hello Michael,

Thank you for posting here on the Xbox forums. You should be able to use your Network-attached storage device on your Xbox, no problem. However, You wouldn't be able to use it to store games or apps. You will be able to browse your movies, music and pictures
from the NAS though.

All I want to do with my XBOX and NAS is browse the folders located on the NAS and use the XBOX to play the movie via my home network. I've tried browsing folders using my XBOX ONE X, but all I see is folders and files actually located on the XBOX. How
do I use my XBOX ONE X to browse my local network and play a movie from my NAS?

Hey Michael,

Thanks for your response! If your NAS supports DLNA, the Xbox One will be able to play media using the

"Media Player" application. Simply open Media Player, allow it to detect the server on your network, browse your media, and play!

Ok, using DLNA I can add my NAS on XBOX media centre. However I can't open anything because the Media Player app doesn't ask for the login or password.

Thanks for reaching out to us here on the Forums!
I will be closing this thread, however, here is some information that may help listed below.

Our standard media player will work with certain NAS. If you are having a hard time setting it up, you might want to take a look at third party apps. I personally used to rock the Kodi app, but I started encountering latency issues.
