How To Connect Xbox One to Monitor + External Speakers

I hope this is the right place to ask this.

I currently have an Xbox one and am going back to college where i currently have the following monitor: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0098Y77N2/ref=oh_details_o03_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I bought this for my xbox 360 when I didn't know about the HDMI connection problem I have now with the Xbox one .

This monitor has both DVI and VGA inputs, not HDMI. So I have been searching for the past 2 days on how to connect with either of these connections. I'm looking for a solution that isn't that expensive but also isn't the $7 HDMI to DVI adapter cable that
apparently doesn't work and keep good quality.

The external speakers i am using is this: http://www.amazon.com/Sharper-Image...&sr=1-1&keywords=sharper+image#productDetails I believe it has regular AUX audio connection.

I have read online that I can use my elgato game capture, something called an HDFury (http://www.hdfury.com/shop/gamer/hdfury-gamer-2-component/?added-to-cart=593), and other ideas, but I'm curious to see why there isn't a uniform way to connect this that
    many people are suggesting.

Thank you for reading and helping!

    :)

Xbox One audio on a monitor?

Hi there, in less than 2 days I'll have my xbox one! but I'm still trying to figure out how I'm going to connect it to my monitor. Video, isn't a problem. Audio is, with my monitor not having built in speaker I have to use external speakers. How am going
to connect it to those speakers? The 360 had a AV to RCA adapter, which made things easy. Any audio wiz kids that can help out? Thanks.

How To Connect Xbox One to Monitor + External Speakers

You can purchase a HD to VGA adapter from Amazon.com www.amazon.com/.../ref=pd_ybh_2. but for the speakers (from what I did) I used the headset
adapter, 1 Aux cable, a Aux to AV converter, and a AV to AV cable

You plug in all wires of one side into the speaker and only the red and white wires into the converter.

Once you have done that you can plug in your headset adapter to any Xbox One controller you may have.

After that, plug in one side of the AUX cable into the adapter and the other into the AUX side of the converter.

You should be good after that. It is a lot to read but fun when you get to do it!

    Enjoy
