    How to connect my Hughesnet Modem to XBOX Live


    Hello,

    I live in a rural area and we had to switch to satellite internet. I know I can't play FPS on xbox live any longer however I'd like to be able to continue downloading games and be able to sign in so I do not have to loose my game progress.

    When I test the connection is connects to the network but when it tries for internet it fails every time. I've restarted both systems with the same result. I currently have the xbox hard wired to the Hughesnet 5g modem. I also tried resetting to factory
    defaults. Any help would be appreciated.

    Connecting to xBox Live with Hughesnet Satellite Internet

    First of all, I understand that my latency is going to be much too high to play games on xbox live through hughesnet. However, I would like to download some new xbox live arcade games.

    I am currently unable to connect to xbox live, and every time I try I get an ICMP error. Is there any way to get live to connect with hughesnet?

    Hello.

    I currently have HughesNet (yes I understand that HughesNet sucks) and I'm considering upgrading to HughesNet Gen 4. However, I've read about some people having connection issues with Gen 4 and Xbox Live. Can anyone tell me about their experiences. If Gen4
    really does work with xbox live. Right now, normal HughesNet allows me to connect/download stuff from Live but I can't play games minus the occasional Mass Effect 3/Crysis 2 match and I can't join parties. If anyone can share how Gen4 works for them, please

    connecting to Xbox LIVE. The main issue with the HT1000 and LIVE is a feature called
    Web Acceleration. This feature should be turned off on the HT1000 to get the LIVE services to function properly.

    Since you're using Hughesnet (satellite) internet it could just be due to the poor connection. Try connecting directly to the Hughesnet modem to see if it helps at all, otherwise you may just need to wait it out.

    Thank you! If you have the HT1000 modem, make sure Web Acceleration is disabled/turned off for this device. This feature is known to cause connectivity issues to Xbox LIVE when enabled/turned on.
