How to combine my microsoft(skype) and xbox accounts

Unfortunately that didnt explain how to merge two accounts. the accounts were not merged when Microsoft acquired skype. I believe both accounts use the same email oddly enough as one I simply login with the username the other with the email. but both should be using the same email address. as I stated in the original post the issue is with skype, xbox, windows.

After looking at microsoft.com and my skype, it is confirmed that both accounts use the same email address. So this issue isn't on my end but on microsofts. Clearly when accounts were merged from acquiring skype, something went wrong.

Hello again, this is strange, try to do this verification, click the link below and log in with the account email, then go down the page and click Skype Profile, this will show the Skype profile that is associated with this Microsoft account, if it is not the same profile that you want you can not merge the accounts.

think i may just wash my hands of Microsoft and all their products. I've had to deal with their support far too many times in the past to want to go that route.

Hello again, at this point you will have to contact xbox customer service, this forum is public viewing and unfortunately as independent consultants we do not have access there is some data nor your account to do this type of verification.

it is definitely not the same account. profile, different profile picture for Microsoft, xbox and skype. which arrised from Microsoft not from me. I have confirmed they are using the same email address. and I have even verified the emails. In the end this isn't something a enduser can fix. this is something Microsoft would have to fix as they caused this problem and handled merging very poorly hence the issue. It would involve someone manipulating the msql database. Often a simple cronjob could accomplish this, however it would involve merging games bought on the Microsoft account, with the gamepass and games on xbox account, and the contacts of skype.
