How to change Xbox profile settings for voice and text

I got this message "Your Xbox profile settings for voice and text are preventing you from using the chat" on Age of empires castle siege the strange thing is I have been able to use it before today and I haven't changed a thing to my knowledge so I would
like to know how I change my settings for voice and text to allow me to use the chat in this game. Please help thank you.

I just got the same error but can't find a way to fix it. Hope someone gives us an answer soon.

Make sure that your console settings are not blocking voice chat

Here’s how:

On the Xbox Dashboard, go to Settings and then select Privacy.

Select Change Settings.

Select Customize.

Select Voice and Text, and then choose either Everyone or Friends Only.

X box Fighter

Adjust your privacy settings. If a player is harassing you by leaving voice or text messages, adjust your privacy settings so that only the people you have added to your "Friends" list can contact you. Select your gamertag. Go to “Edit Profile,” then select
“Privacy Settings.” Select “Voice and Text” from the list and change the setting to “Friends Only.”

After that report the user(s).
