How to change Xbox One network settings out-of-the-box before connecting to network?

I will reply to my own post since I found a solution! I created a wi-fi hot-spot using my cell phone and logged in and updated via the hot-spot. After that I was able to login and reach the main screen and from there I could change the network settings.
I have to say I am pretty disappointed with MS on the bull$hit you have to go through to change the network settings. Are you freakin' kidding me that you are expected to sign in to your account before you can change network settings!?!?! Thank god I use
Linux in my work environment! MS get with the program and make a system that is user friendly...you blew it with Windows 8 and XBox One looks to be just as a$$-backwards! If it wasn't for my son I would have returned this system to the store in a heartbeat...

I just had this too. I have 2 xbox slims and one worked and one didn't. I rebooted my router and still had 1 slow boot xbox and the other booted just fine.

Once it finally booted I looked at the network connection and on the one with the slow boot had an "Alternate MAC Address" and the one that worked had "Not set" for alternate MAC address.

So on my slow boot system, I did this:

in System Settings-->, Network Settings-->, Wired Network (I have a wired connection)-->, Configure Network-->, Additional Settings tab-->, 2nd box down-->, I changed Alternate MAC Address to "Not Set"

Works perfectly now. So the slim must be looking for the network before it boots. With that MAC Address set wrong it was taking a long time to get to the network. And sometime it wouldn't even connect to Live.

I remember a few weeks ago I connected to a hotel wired connection and was futzing around with the network settings. I got on the hotel network, but I guess I forgot to reset the network settings. Lesson learned. Hope this helps someone else out there.

the network setting. The network settings has an option called, "Set up Wireless Network" which allows the console to search for and connect to surrounding WiFi networks. Be sure to let us know the results!

So when trying to play online with Red Dead Redemption 2 but it will not sign in the Xbox Live account?

I would recommend going to System, Settings, Network, Network Settings, then Test Multiplayer connection. What does it say about the network? You mentioned trying two different networks. Does it let you sign in another account instead? Are you able to try a
wired connection?

Thanks for reaching out. I understand there is an issue with the network connectivity on the Xbox One console.
I recommend to try troubleshooting the network connection on the Xbox.

Try this:

• Select Settings on the Xbox
  
• Select Network
  
• Select Network Settings
  
• Select Advance Settings
  
• Alternate Mac address
  
• Select Clear
  
• Select Restart
  

This step will restart the console. When it reboots, Select Network >Select Network Settings > Set up wireless network.

Try this out and let us know the results.
