Using an ethernet cable should work, but just in case the ethernet cable doesn't work I have another 2 things advise you:

1. Perform a factory reset for the console but keeping games and apps

Go to Settings app > Select System tab > then Console info

There you should be able to see a "Reset your console" button

Select it and then select Keep my games and apps

**You need to sign in each account after the reset. Make sure you know the email and password for each one

2. (I think you need assistance from someone else on this one. But you can try it!)

Perform an offline update for your console. In that way Xbox system will be installed/updated from scratch.

Basically is something that allows you to extend your Wi-Fi / Router signal, it's like having two routers in your home.

Your Xbox only has two ways to connect to Internet, the first one is Wi-Fi and the other is via cable (in the back you should be able to see the ethernet port)

I really don't know if that's going to work (connect the Xbox Console via ethernet cable <like in the picture> with your Sky Q Box).
