Hello,

I'd like to change, as I said in the tittle, the Microsoft account of my Xbox Live profile.

In facts, I linked an Xbox Live profile to my Microsoft account, but I don't use it. Know I'd like to link the Xbox Live that I use, with this same Microsoft account, but I can't ! Because there's already the other profile linked with...

I tried, through the Xbox 360 settings, but it displays an error message and it don't works (Microsoft account already occuped, maybe)

I tried something clever : create a new Microsoft account, to transfer "the" profile, and release my Microsoft account...

It was working better, and I had confirmed everything (including the stupid parental consent...), AND... and... Error meessage.

I don't know what to do. Maybe it's an other restriction of Microsoft, impossible to bypass.

A worthless waste of time ! I can't do what I want to do with MY accounts and profiles, I can't DELETE an Xbox Live profile without deleting the whole Microsoft account whit !! Incredible.

How to Change your Xbox LIVE account information

Overview

It is possible to change information associated with your Xbox LIVE account like your name, address, phone number or email address.

Note: You cannot change the country that is associated with your Xbox LIVE account. If you have moved to another country and you would like to access Xbox LIVE from there, you have to create a new Xbox LIVE account in your new location.

How to Change your name, address, phone number or email on Xbox.com

1) Go to My Account and Sign In with your Microsoft Account. (This is the email and password that is associated with your Xbox LIVE account).

2) Make the changes you want to your billings account information and then click Save.

How to Change your name, address, phone number or email on your console.

1) Sign in using your Xbox LIVE gamertag.

2) Proceed to Settings, and then select Account.

3) Select Your Information, and then go to Billing Information.

4) Sign In with your Microsoft account password.

5) Change your billing account information and then click Done.

In case you want to change the billing name on your Xbox LIVE account, go to Xbox.com

One thing to take note is no content can be transfered between accounts. But setting the old account as the home can give the content back in use.

I read somewhere that I have to wait 30 days before changing the Microsoft account of the Gamertag, after downloading the Gamertag that I want to delete : cause of issues!

So now we'll see in 30 days ! I hope it will work after

To change the email address on an Xbox profile, you will have to change the email address on the Microsoft account (which is associated with the Xbox profile).

Password protect your Xbox Live profile remotely

If your Xbox Live profile is downloaded to another console and it’s not password protected or your password becomes compromised, you can remotely remove the password so that your profile can’t be accessed. Here’s how:

Step 1: Change your Microsoft account

Go to accounts.live.com and sign in with your Microsoft account.

Under Account information, click Change next to Password.

Alternatively, you can change your Microsoft account password from your console by following the steps at Change your Microsoft account password.

Note If your downloaded Xbox Live profile doesn’t require a password at sign in (the Remember Password option is turned on), changing your Microsoft account password won’t prevent someone from signing into your Xbox Live profile. In this case, you need to
complete the next step.

Step 2: Require a password to sign in

Remove your Microsoft account password so that your Xbox Live profile can’t be accessed from other consoles. You can do this:

On your computer

On your Xbox console

Computer steps: Remotely require a profile password

Go to My Account.

Under Settings & Preferences, click Xbox 360 Profile Protection.

Sign in with the Microsoft account (email address and password) that is associated with your Xbox Live account.

Select Require Profile Download to require that your profile be redownloaded from Xbox Live, using your Microsoft account and password, before it can be used on a console. Any existing copies of your profile will no longer work, and profile changes or
achievements that are not saved to Xbox Live will be lost.

Console steps: Remotely require a profile password

Sign in to Xbox Live with your account.

Go to Settings, select Account and then select Account Security.

Select Password at Sign In.

Select On All Other Consoles.

If you choose this option, all other consoles will require your Microsoft account password for sign in (or redownloading of your Xbox Live profile).

If you believe your Xbox Live account has been compromised go to Xbox Live account security.

Important Unfortunately, Xbox LIVE customer support cannot reset Microsoft account passwords. If you need to request a Microsoft account password reset, please contact customer support.
